Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you have any questions not answered here.

Sugar is a paste made with only sugar, water, and a little lemon. It's a natural form of hair removal that is applied only by hand and removed in the direction of hair growth. This can be more gentle on the skin, especially those who are a bit more sensitive to traditional waxing.

Its really in the application! I use a clean, natural soft wax and use sticks and muslin strips to apply and remove the wax. Sugar uses only a gloved hand and is applied in the opposite direction. Come see for yourself the difference!

  • You should have at least 3 weeks of hair growth from your last shave or trim.  We want to make sure we have enough length for the wax/sugar to grab onto.
  • Do not trim the area you are getting serviced beforehand.  Oftentimes people trim too short and we can no longer perform the service.
  • Do not apply any lotions, creams, or otherwise moisturize your skin before your sugaring appointment. Sugar only adheres to dry, clean skin.
  • Waxing or Sugaring will lift your spray tan so it's recommended to spray tan AFTER your wax or sugar appointment.
  • Caffeine will increase your sensitivity so try to avoid it at least 4 hours before your service.
  • Ibuprofen can help with sensitivity and inflammation. If you're worries about the discomfort, take at least 30-60 mins before your appointment.

I do not recommend hair removal while taking Internal Medication such as Antibiotics, Diuretics, and Accutane as well as Topicals that include products with Retin-A, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, or Benzoyl Peroxide. All of these can dry out the skin, enhancing sensitivity, causing lifted skin.

Some Retinols are okay, but it's best to not use a few days before your appointment, just to be safe.

There's no need to cancel if you started your period and you've booked a intimate service. Just wear a tampon or cup and take some ibuprofen before hand because you will feel more sensitive. If you don't feel comfortable coming in during this time, just let me know as soon as you can!

I don't recommend it. You want to avoid sweating or swimming with freshly waxed skin. Keep the area clear of this for at least 24 hours post wax/sugar.
